The Department of Energy (DOE) conducted the Energy Investment Briefing for Region X today (16 August) at the N Hotel, Cagayan De Oro City.
The briefing organized by the Investments Promotion Office of the DOE is held annually to highlight the country's need for additional capacity requirements and the collaboration with the local stakeholders, such as the LGUs and electric cooperatives, for the realization of the energy projects.
Energy Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi, in his statement delivered by Assistant Secretary Redentor E. Delola said, “The energy family is reaching out to potential host communities and interested energy investors, to discuss the latest policies and programs that facilitate the implementation of energy projects.”
The briefing included a discussion on the Mindanao Power Supply and Demand Outlook and updates on Energy Regulations 1-94. It also discussed energy projects in the region, their benefits for the host LGUs and distribution utilities and the procedures to fast track energy projects.
The DOE holds these energy investment briefings for the stakeholders to interact with each other at the local level.
