The two-day event features discussions on nuclear safety and security, use of nuclear and radioactive sources, nuclear forensics, and identify possible areas for future regional collaboration.

TAGUIG City -  In line with the Philippines’ chairmanship of the ASEAN Nuclear Energy Cooperation Sub-Sector Network (NEC-SSN), the Department of Energy (DOE) hosted a two-day event from 20 to 21 May 2019 to tackle Good Practices on Regional Cooperation in Nuclear Security.

The seminar sought to facilitate interactive discussions on various requirements and opportunities toward nuclear safety and security, as well as sessions that focused on topics which included the Regional Framework Supporting Enhancement of Nuclear Security in the Asian Region, Nuclear Forensics Cooperation in Asia, the Activities of the European Union Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Risk Mitigation Centre of Excellence Initiative, Capacity Building Support Activities of ISCN in Asia, and Nuclear Energy Cooperation under APAEC 2016-2025.

The DOE is hopeful that the event will further increase awareness on the use of the nuclear technologies for all states in the ASEAN.
