DAVAO CITY – The Department of Energy-Consumer Welfare and Promotion Office (DOE-CWPO) brought its ENEReady Information, Education and Motivation (IEM) Campaign for 2020 to the Grade 9 students of the Don Enrique Bustamante National High School in Bago Gallera, Talomo District on 19 February 2020.
"Creating awareness among our students on the workings and potential opportunities awaiting them in the energy sector will provide them with knowledge to help elevate our nation and make it globally competitive. This program will surely inspire them to serve and to actively participate in the continous development of our society", Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi said.
Junior geologists from the DOE-Energy Resource Development Bureau and DOE-Renewable Energy Management Bureau, as well as representatives from the DOE-Mindanao Field Office also joined the ENEReady Davao team as resource speakers. They engaged the students by exchanging ideas, sharing their experiences and explaining how they are able to contribute to nation building through the energy sector.
ENEReady is part of the continuing efforts of the DOE, under the directive of Energy Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi and DOE Gender and Development Focal Point System Chairperson, Assistant Secretary Caron Aicitel E. Lascano, to further promote gender balance and development in the industry.
