Calibration / Instrumentation & Control

  1. Maintain a set of calibration standards for in-house calibration of DOE-LATL instruments.
  2. Render instrument calibration services to LATL clients.
  3. Conduct research and studies to improve over-all plant efficiency through proper application of measurement and calibration principles.
  4. Provide technical assistance in the design of calibration and measurement system.
  5. Provide consultancy on instrumentation and control specifically on energy monitoring instruments.

Lighting Testing

1. Formulate energy standards for lighting and other household electrical products.

2. Undertake testing of lighting components and other related products to:

  • Maintain database on energy performance of lighting and other electrical devices in aid of formulating policy recommendations and for consumer  information.

  • Implement energy standards and labeling.

3. Conduct research and studies to improve efficiency of lighting and other electrical devices.

Appliance Testing

1. Formulate energy standards for appliances and equipment.

2. Conduct testing of appliances, equipment and other energy consuming devices.

  • Maintain database on energy performance of appliances and equipment in aid of formulating policy recommendation and for consumer information.

  • Implement energy efficiency standards.

3. Conduct research and studies to improve efficiency of energy consuming appliances and equipment.
